The first part of the programme took place at the Haagse Hogeschool, and was open to students and the public. This part, entitled “€uro Mafias: Do you know about globalization of Mafia and Organized Crime in Europe?” featured an art contest participated by students who created artwork inspired by the theme of the event, an exhibition of key figures from the FLARE Programme 2008, movies, drama, and the interactive game, Confiscopolis, presented by the FLARE staff.

The second part of the programme, entitled “The Globalisation of Mafia and Organized Crime in Europe: Scenarios and Perspectives in the Netherlands”, was held at the Clingendael Instituut, and gave the academic perspective of the event. This session featured, among the others, Mrs Dina Siegel of the Utrecht University, also member of the Scientific Committee of FLARE, and Ms Gabriella Stramaccioni, of Libera. Topics regarding lover boys, trafficking, prostitution, and other criminal activities were discussed and debated.
