FLARE members and The National Anti-Drug Agency (ANA) organized a one-day event in Bucharest, a conference that was also the launch of an national campaign against drugs “Be aware, not addicted”.

The project is targeting young people, is a national contest that provokes them to create their own campaign against drugs and is initiated by FLARE member AEPADO.

The chief of service of ANA, along with representatives of different Ministries and national NGOs attended the event, among with Michele Curto, Giancarlo Caselli and Tonio Dell’Olio.

A special part of the conference was dedicated to the international phenomenon of drug trafficking and to the topic regarding the prevention of organized crime through an international legislation, the confiscation and social reuse of organized crime property.

Giancarlo Caselli, the general prosecutor who took the legacy of Falcone spoke about the importance of this common law and frame work. “This is legality”, he said, pointing at a pack of pasta. “If we take a first look, this is nothing more than a typical Italian product. But this pasta comes from land confiscated from Cosa Nostra. Now the land is being used with a social purpose, it’s offering a place to work for people, they are liberated.”

The conference was followed by a meeting between the foreign delegation and the Italian Ambassador in Bucharest.
