The closing event of “Season of Legality” took place in Bari, Italy. The city of Bari has long become a national symbol for the fight against organized crime, expeccially on a non-repressive and social way. Over 600 are the properties confiscated to organized crime in the region of Puglia that are used now for social purposes.

In Bari “The camping of Legality” has seen the participation of 50 FLARE delegates and about 30 people from the north and the south of Italy. The event consisted of a conference participated by Milos Simonovic, mayor of Nis, Michele Emiliano, mayor of Bari, Luigi Ciotti, President of Libera, Guglielmo Minervini, regional councillor for transparency and active citizeship. The conference gave the possibility to draw outcomes of “Season of Legality”. Participants also visited two good examples of properties confiscated to organized crime and now used for social purposes, such as the “MomArt” in Torchiarolo and the cultivated land in Mesagne.
